Proposal to Regulate the Sale, Possession and use of Body Armour in British Columbia

July 22, 2009

The provincial government is proposing to regulate the sale and possession of body armour in B.C. This initiative supports government’s plan to combat gang and gun violence in British Columbia that was announced by Premier Gordon Campbell on February 13, 2009.

One component of the plan is a proposed new licensing program for the sale and purchase of body armour, which will include criminal record checks. Below are two questionnaires, one for businesses that offer security services and one for the manufacturers and distributors of body armour. Please complete the questionnaire relevant to your work area.

Deadline: questionnaires must be received by August 14, 2009 at 4 p.m.
