The internet, freedom of information laws and an increased focus on stakeholder consultation has transformed how Canadian governments make public policy. Governments actively seek input from organizations with an interest in a specific policy sector. However, there is now so much information coming out of Canadian governments that it is useful to compile this information in a systematic manner.
Policy Monitor Canada scans thousands of government web pages to find the latest policy announcements, regulatory and legislative consultations, governmental reorganizations etc. that we think are generally relevant to a particular policy sector.
We do not add analysis through this service. It is simply our effort to provide notification of information freely available but widely cast across the layers of Canadian government jurisdictions.
