The Manitoba government is considering new consumer protection rules for the vehicle repair industry. These include:
- ensuring that cost estimates are detailed
- getting customer authorization before repairs are made
- giving customers the option of receiving all old parts
- providing mandatory warranties on labour, and most new and used parts
- ensuring the final cost is within a certain percentage of the estimate
